The Sun news story 'Slam punk cop smashes man's head through car windscreen in draqmatic CCTV footage after thug tried to headbutt him outside Tesco store'

Before the digital age this would have been printed in a newpaper with photographs of the CCTV footage but becuase this is shown online it allows the audience to actually see the footage for themselves, this is an advantage becuase it adds to the story.

The Sun also features a news story 'The grisly spot in Kent awash with human remains for the 18th century which resembles a scene from a horror film' This again would have been printed in a newspaper before the digital age, as it is shown online it allows the images to be shown quite big. an advantage of the digital age is that the news websites have make certain stories more important by displaying them bigger on their page, a disadvantage of the digital age is that the content can be redistributed with added content which could harm a companies reputation.

The viral video i have chosen is Donald Trump and Hiliary Clinton singing 'Time of my life', This could have been used to raise awareness of the upcoming election.

A viral video is a video that becomes very popular in a short amout of time and that is shared by alot of people. A viral video can spread a message quickly through people sharing it. this is seen as successful as they spread a message fast. A disadvantage of viral videos is that can sometimes not be professional about certain subjects, also these videos could be hard to reach a older audience.

These are videos posted on instagram/facebook through a live feed, often these can go viral. a disadvantage of these can be hard to regulate as they are posted as the event is happening and so can have harmful and offenive content. An advantage of these can be that they show an event as they are happening.These are different from planned viral videos becuase they are more unexpected and real then after the event. They tend not to carry much of a message compared to planned viral videos becuase they are unedited and so they cannot always project a specific message.

Progression of journalism
As journalism progresses through the digital age with more newpapers being avaliable online, on social media and on apps it could lead to traditional methods being left behind such as newspaper, this is becuase the new generations relay on online access and so when the older generations die so will the newpaper insdustry. To progress Journalism further i think all news utlets should be avalaible online as it is easy accesss to the audience.
